Eidos has announced that they have agreed a £71 million offer from Elevation Partners. This offer was at 50 pence per share, slightly less than the 53 pence per share offer they were approached about on March 2nd.

“The board firmly believes that shareholders’ interests are best served by a sale of the company,” John van Kuffeler, chairman of the board of Eidos, said in a statement.

Rumours of a buyout have been around for a number of weeks, with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp at one time being linked to the developer.
