EA and Pandemic Studios have announced a worldwide co-publishing deal for Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, the sequel to 2005’s Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

We’re thrilled to partner with Pandemic Studios and to be working together to make Mercenaries 2: World in Flames a global blockbuster,” said EA Partners vice president and general manager, David DeMartini. “EA Partners is committed to providing the world’s best development studios with access to EA’s unrivalled global publishing resources, helping gamemakers reach the widest possible audience.

Pandemic Studios CEO Andrew Goldman adds: “Mercenaries 2: World in Flames will set the bar for explosive, open world action games in the next generation, and everyone at Pandemic is excited that fans will be able to get their hands on it later this year.

Currently the game appears to be in development only for the PlayStation 3, with no mention of Xbox 360 or PC from EA or Pandemic. However, the announcement makes no mention of PlayStation 3 exclusivity – make of that what you will.
