2007 is all change for E3. The Entertainment Software Association has announced that the event will take place from July 11 to July 13 and will be called the E3 Media and Business Summit. The event will be held in premier hotel suites all within walking distance to one another, plus a shuttle will be organized for attendees of off-site conferences.

A daily luncheon conference session will also take place with industry execs and analysts taking the stage. The ESA also has plans for a games showcase to be held in Baker Hanger, Los Angeles, where attendees will be able to play games.

Another change in 2007 is a move to invitation only, and booking is expected to begin in the next 30 days. ESA president Doug Lowenstein has said that E3 2007 will be “more personal, efficient and focused.” This will enable “the top stakeholders who make games, sell games and cover games streamlined access to the people and products they most need to see.” This is in contrast to previous E3s, where the show floor was packed with people and moving around from booth to booth was a task within itself.
