Bandai Namco has announced a closed beta for the game, with signups beginning on July 26. It’s also been confirmed, in a trailer at Evo 2017, that Trunks is the next character to join the fighting game’s roster.

In the trailer, Trunks is seen fighting other popular Dragon Ball Z characters such as Frieza and Vegeta. The trailer also reveals that Trunks will be playable during the closed beta. More details on the closed beta will be revealed shortly, said publisher Bandai Namco.

Announced during E3, Dragon Ball FighterZ is being developed by Arc System Works, those of Guilty Gear fame, and has been garnering quite a bit of interest. Employing a 2.5D anime art style, rather than the 3D of other Dragon Ball titles such as Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ really captures the visuals, the speed and insane levels of action the Dragon Ball series is renowned for.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released in early 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One
