The game was revealed in a tweet by Focus’ UK PR agency Dead Good Media, alongside the first piece of artwork.

Further details on the game, including platforms and a release date, have yet to be revealed but expect a formal announcement soon. VideoGamer.com has contacted Dead Good Media for further information.

Vampyr’s reveal comes ahead of the launch of Dontnod’s latest game Life Is Strange, an episodic adventure due out later this month.

UPDATE: The Sixth Axis has the first details on the title, which reportedly puts players in the role of a doctor-turned-vampire shortly after the events of World War 1.

“Apparently the Y in the name relates to the choices in the game where the doctor faces moral quandaries as his doctor side tries to heal, while his vampire nature wants to kill and feed,” the site says. “The tag line for Vampyr is ‘Take blood. Save a life’.”

The game is reportedly being developed by a second team at Dontnod, although a release date has yet to be confirmed.

UPDATE 2 Jan 21 12:55: This article previously referred to Vampyr as a “horror RPG”. However, Dead Good Media has contacted VideoGamer.com to clarify that the title will be an action RPG, not a horror RPG.
