Dispatch developer AdHoc has shared the player statistics for episodes 7 and 8. There are a lot of surprising results, but the biggest revelation is that more than 62% of players fell head over heels in love with Invisigal compared to just 26% for Blonde Blazer.
The full statistics include spoilers, so make sure you buy and complete Dispatch first. It has a near-perfect 9.6 rating on the PSN store, making it one of the highest-rated PS5 games, if not the highest. Why there are not more romance options in Dispatch
Invisigal and Blonde Blazer are the only two romance options in Dispatch. AdHoc Studio co-founder and Dispatch writer, Pierre Shorette, says they didn’t include more romance options because they “didn’t know it was going to be such a meaningful part of the experience for folks”. In the same interview with Inverse, Shorette teases maybe “one day” fans will get to see all of the cut sex scenes.
Limiting the romance to just Invisigal and Blonde Blazer works perfectly for the story, but more romance options would be neat for a second season. Fans especially love Malevola, the “sexy demon lady” inspired by supermodel Cindy Crawford and fitness influencer LeanBeefPatty.
Unfortunately, we don’t know for certain a second season will happen. Aaron Paul says the door is “definitely slightly ajar,” and Shorette says AdHoc is “going to have to at least think about” a second season following the game’s huge success.
AdHoc is working on a game set in the world of Critical Role’s Exandria. They are also open to the idea of working with “white whale IPs,” similar to Telltale collaborating with The Wolf Among Us. We desperately hope season 2 will happen, but we’ll be there day one, whatever AdHoc releases next.
