One game that Nintendo didn’t tell us about at E3 in July was Disaster: Day of Crisis. The Wii action game is due for release in the UK on October 24, but it’s already on sale in Japan. Although gamers appeared to be quite happy that the game still existed (it disappeared from our radar for some time), that doesn’t seem to have had a positive impact on sales. First week sales were a fairly disappointing 14,310 units, placing it tenth in the weekly Japanese sales chart.

Taking the top spot is Super Robot Taisen on the PS2 with an impressive 366,493 units sold. Pokémon Platinum on the DS continues to march on beyond 1 million sales with 195,479 units sold last week, and Wii Fit also finds a place in the Top 10, shifting 21,261 units. Nintendo’s smash hit fitness game currently stands at 2,684,000 units sold in Japan.

Aquanaut’s Holiday: Kakusareta Kiroku is the highest placed PS3 game, entering at No. 9 with 17,646 units sold. Despite the recent success of the Xbox 360 in Japan over the PS3, no Xbox 360 game managed to make the Top 30.
