For a long time gamers thought Monolith Soft’s Disaster: Day of Crisis had bitten the dust. After Nintendo failed to even mention the game at E3 2008 and then claimed that no new games were due this year other than what was shown at the disappointing trade show, we’d given up hope of seeing it, but it’s alive and out this year.
You play as Raymond Bryce, a decorated US Marine and former International Rescue Team operative. Ray is called back into action to help deal with SURGE, a terrorist unit. SURGE has kidnapped a leading seismologist in order to predict the arrival of an earthquake, which in turn will act as a diversion for their plan to seize nuclear weapons.
With a whole host of natural disasters to contend with and some history that comes back to haunt him, Ray must use all of his skills to survive, take down SURGE and rescue any stranded civilians.
Disaster: Day of Crisis is due for release by Nintendo exclusively for Wii in Europe on October 24.
