Monster Couch has confirmed that Die for Valhalla, the Norse mythology-meets-beat-’em-up-meets-roguelite action game, will launch for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One next month.

Die for Valhalla tasks you with saving a Viking realm that’s got itself into a bit of a pickle, a job that you, a powerful Valkyrie, is more than suited for. While steeped in Norse mythology, the game also marries Lovecraftian elements that make for quite an interesting mishmash of ideas, aesthetically speaking.

As a Valkyrie you’ll have the power to possess enemies, and there’s seven different Viking classes to pick from, each packing their own unique playstyles. What’s more, you can buff your Valkyrie with a choice of 80 different skills allowing for a diverse range of abilities, tailoring the experience to your own tastes.

If you don’t really give a toss about saving someone’s realm and would prefer to just batter people senseless, then you can instead plump for Die for Valhalla’s Deahtmatch and Survival modes, where you can pit your skills against a bunch of mates.

Die for Valhalla is due for release on May 29.
