When is the Diablo 4 DLC release date?

The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release date is Tuesday, October 8 2024. Blizzard has confirmed this release during the Xbox Live showcase in June. This announcement came with a brand-new cinematic trailer, teeing up the story of this expansion and what we can expect to see. As ever, Blizzard does a fantastic job with its cinematic trailers, and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred new content

DLC expansions mean more shiny new things to do in Diablo 4. From new classes to a new region, here is what Blizzard has confirmed is coming in the DLC.

New Class – Spiritborn

The Spiritborn class is a brand-new addition to the game and it will be available at launch. Blizzard has said in a press release that this new class will play a role in the story, and it certainly looks like it fits right in with the game’s jungle and green themes going on. More about this class and, hopefully, other new additions, will be explored during a separate gameplay stream next month.

Talking about the new class, the official Diablo 4 site reads: “The Spiritborn, apex predator of the jungle, is poised to strike. Battle with styles and mystical synergies that could only be awakened deep beneath the jungle’s canopy with an entirely new class to the iconic Diablo series”.

Class Updates

Blizzard also announced that existing classes in the game will be getting an update with the DLC expansion. This will include new skills for each class, new Paragon Boards, and more. Blizzard hasn’t shared any thing else on classes other than this, nor has there been any word about an increased level cap.

New Region – Nahantu

With the launch of Vessels of Hatred, a brand-new region will be added to the game called Nahantu. Nahantu is a jungle region that looks incredibly different from what we’ve seen so far in the base Diablo 4 game. Located to the south, this is an area we’ve yet to fully explore in-game.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred story

Vessel of Hatred will pick up immediately where the base Diablo 4 story left off. You are on a journey to find Neyrelle and stop the Prime Evil from destroying Sanctuary. Here is the official synopsis: “Attempt to unravel Mephisto’s dark plot while new foes encircle your every move, planning your demise. The fate of Neyrelle’s soul–and her ability to stop this Prime Evil from destroying Sanctuary – rests in your hands”.
