With all the news surrounding Diablo 4 Season 1 coming out, there’s been a lot to focus on. However, Diablo 4 hardcore players are a little worried that with the recent announcements surrounding seasonal progress.
With Diablo 4’s upcoming season, players will be invited to log in with their character that has made the most progress two days before the season starts. The progression made by that character – in so far as things such as how much of the map they’ve uncovered, and how many Lilith statues they’ve activated, for example – will transfer to the seasonal realm, giving players seasonal characters a little bit of a headstart.
Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit, players noted their worry about the possibility of not being able to take full advantage of this due to their hardcore characters having previously died. Because of the nature of hardcore characters, you are usually unable to log in as a hardcore character, if they’ve died and instead, you’re only be able to view their stats.
A number of players have pointed out that the devs have mentioned during last night’s reveal event that allowing you to transfer progress wasn’t originally the plan for Season 1. One player pointed out that, “Overwhelming feedback prompted them the change gears and they came up with a quick fix way of allowing progress through. Because this bandaid is being applied after the fact, it requires you to log in and sync the progress of a previously created char to your whole account progress.”
It’s possible that this system will grow and evolve as the game continues but until then hardcore players will unfortunately have to make do until Blizzard make some clarifications on exactly how this system will work for Hardcore characters.
