Blizzard has delayed the release of Diablo 4 Season 8 by a few weeks, pushing back the new season to the end of April. Following complaints of rushed updates by fans, the new Diablo 4 Season 8 release date will be just a little bit later than fans expected.
Diablo 4 Season 8 release date delayed
While a concrete release date has yet to be confirmed by Blizzard on forums or social posts, players logging into the game can see exactly when the new season will be launching. Those who signed into the game last night were met with a message claiming the new season will release on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Speaking to fans on Twitter, Blizzard’s Head of Diablo Rod Fergusson explained that the new update will be delayed, but the team is cooking up some interesting content for players to enjoy.
“In the spirit of serving the game, not the plan, Season 8 will take a couple of weeks longer to bake than we initially anticipated,” The team is hard at work on some great updates coming in the next season, so stay tuned. Looking forward to seeing an old ‘friend’.”
In recent weeks, Blizzard has admitted to releasing new updates too early without enough bug testing. For Season of Witchcraft, which was a well received season, this led to necromancer builds being extremely bugged for a number of weeks. Since then, the studio has promised to spend longer on making sure seasons don’t release in a horrifically buggy state.
Additionally, Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 seasons will no longer release too close to each other, allowing players of both games to have enough time to experience both. With these two changes, it’s clear that Blizzard is at least listening to fans in some regard.
