Across the world of Diablo 4, players encounter numerous unique mobs with their own names. Dedicated players of Blizzard’s open world ARPG have called for these mobs to be more important with clever new changes.
How to fix Diablo 4 unique mobs
Players in the Diablo 4 subreddit expressed disappointment at Blizzard’s unique mobs in the game’s open world. Instead of being mini bosses with exciting fights, they’re simply buffed mobs with some unique loot.
However, with the arrival of Vessel of Hatred and plans to drastically improve Diablo 4’s gameplay systems, fans believe Blizzard should turn these unique mobs into mini bosses.
In a recent Reddit thread, one fan explained that unique mobs should be intense world events. For example, to fight Nine-Eyes the Broodmother, players would eliminate a specific amount of scorpions to spawn the powerful creature.
While unique mobs have always dropped rare loot, players believe that the loot should be changed to match a mob’s theme.
“To make the unique loot interesting… make the gear they drop be unique with a legendary power in line with the unique mob theme,” one player said. ”[For example,] Broodmother drops poison themed gear for a poison build and so on.
“The unique mobs could also give renown the first time you killed them.”
Revive the open world
Despite having a massive open world with stunning visuals, Diablo 4 doesn’t feel alive. While the few unique mobs in the game do help to breathe life into the game, their lack of use is another example of Blizzard failing to expand on its good ideas.
“I’m hoping for big improvements to the open world,” one player said. “They created this huge, beautiful, detailed open world… please make use of it Blizzard, it’s the coolest part of the game!”
With Vessel of Hatred, Blizzard is taking a bold step forward with its action RPG. Hopefully, with improvements to the game’s open world, the game can feel more alive than ever.
