It looks as though Diablo 4’s latest patch has gone down well with the community so far, as players are praising the improvements made to the endgame grind over on the official subreddit.

Among the many changes in the most recent patch – which you can read up on here – Blizzard has massively buffed the amount of experience players will get from endgame content, especially when it comes to Nightmare Dungeons, Helltide chests and rewards from Whispers. Players are ecstatic at the buffs, with some such as ITGenji saying “It’s insane exp now, T40 is like 1.4-2mil exp.” To add context, Moosebreathman clarifies: “A single run of a normal Uldur’s Cave or Champ’s Demise was around 750k iirc so it’s pretty big. Combined with the teleporting to the dungeon location it’s way faster to level now.”

Before the patch, many felt the Nightmare Dungeons could be a little stingy on the rewards, particularly for those who killed everything in them such as Oghier, who says “NM Dungeon experience appears to be tripled(!). I just knocked out a quick tier-39 Zenith, including a cursed chest event. 2 million XP for the clear. Yesterday, I was getting 600 – 800k for a clear.” It’s a similar sentiment from LordLimpD, who adds “Just did a lvl 35 mightmare and got 2.5m mil exp HOLY.” (We presume that last exclamation should’ve been “UNHOLY LILITH”, of course.)

There’s players equally happy to the buffs outside of the Nightmare Dungeons too, such as Glass2Cherub who says “Open world xp increases, fxxx yeah. The open world is the game’s greatest achievement and has the most potential. Hope to see more incentive to be out there. Not that I need it to be optimal, just nice to see buffs. Love riding around and being immersed, hitting up a helltide here and there. Whisper bounties if I’m near them. Love it.”

There’s still plenty in store for fans of Diablo 4’s end game content, as Blizzard has confirmed it’s working on “increasing the monster and elite density of end-game content” with a goal to introduce those changes early in Season 1. We don’t have an exact date of when Season 1 will land just yet, but in the meantime check out our handy Diablo 4 Nightmare Dungeons explained guide.
