Mounts were a huge attraction to a lot of Diablo 4 players. Given the sheer size of Sanctuary, being able to hop on a horse and travel the vastness of the world sounds like a fantastically quick way of getting around. However, Diablo 4 fans were slightly disappointed they can’t do this as quickly as they thought, with many players calling for Blizzard to buff mounts and make them faster.
Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit, user TheeChamby posted a clip showing them outrunning a player on a mount using a few abilities. They said, “There is no reason any mount should be slower than on foot”. Other players agreed with another user pointing out that the “movement speed bonus should apply to mounts too”.
However, some players weren’t too convinced by this solution as one player noted that, “it might be a cool feature, but not a solution.” They continued by saying that this change would realistically fix nothing and instead, Blizzard should “remove CD, boost the normal mount speed to the charge speed we have today. Change charge to instead be some sort of dash/jump that can take you over small gaps, enemies and barricades”.
Some others weren’t looking for major changes to the overall speed of mounts. One player said, “I don’t need my mount to be faster (much). I’d be really happy if they didn’t catch on corners and objects and have no loading or lag or weird player riding ghosts with no horses”.
Setting aside the speed issue, Diablo 4 players are looking for Blizzard to rework some of the mount mechanics. While different player solutions have been offered, it’ll be interesting to see if a future update addresses these issues.
