Update 26/6: As of this morning, the official Blizzard support account as declared that “The DDOS attacks that we were monitoring have ended” and as such, services should be returning to normal and you should be able to login to the game.

However, Blizzard has now scheduled two periods of live maintenance it’ll be taking to the game over the next two days. The first will take place Monday June 26 from 5pm BST until 9pm BST. The second will occur just over 24 hours later, from 5.30pm BST until 10pm BST. During both of these periods, we’re warned “players may experience interruptions of service including disconnects, but should be able to log back in.”

Original Story Follows: Diablo 4 players have been noting their difficulty in trying to play the game over the last 24 hours. The issue has now been confirmed by Blizzard as being a DDoS attack. While Blizzard says they are actively working to mitigate the issue, it’ll likely be at least a few more hours until the Diablo 4 servers are back to normal.

Taking to the Blizzard forums yesterday, a number of players posted their inability to actively connect to the Diablo 4 servers with user TheOGMac saying, “Can’t log in to play this evening. game stats unable to find a valid license file?” The thread kept growing and growing, as more players began to also note that they were also not able to access the servers, with brief moments of connectivity only to be kicked out.

Blizzard provided some insight into what was happening today. Posting on Twitter today, Blizzard’s Customer Service account said, “We’re currently investigating an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts.” Alongside this, we were given more context into what this issue was as Blizzard’s PC hosting platform, Battle.net, displayed a message today saying, “We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.”

Diablo 4 Battle.net message which reads: "We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue."

These issues are still ongoing so there is no indication as to when players will be able to hop into Diablo 4 again but in the meantime keep an eye on our piece, Is Diablo 4 down? Also, why not check out what Diablo 4 players had been up to before the servers went down? Recently Diablo 4 players took it upon themselves to start their very own queue and Diablo 4 fans adore Donan. Alongside this, Diablo 4’s director called the game “thick and heavy” as he compared it to… a guitar.
