Diablo 3’s 2.4.3 patch is now rolling out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, bringing with it the new 20th Anniversary Event content, and a very welcome update for PS4 Pro players.

Patch notes reveal that “support has been added for 4k output for the PS4 Pro”, though exactly what this means to the game’s resolution and graphical effects isn’t clear.

NeoGAF users have been posting comparison screens of the game in 1080p and 4K, but it looks like we’ll need a pixel counting expert to step in with their findings.

Of course the major element of the new game update is the 20th Anniversary Content which recreates the original game only for January.

“A mysterious group of Cultists is stirring up trouble! Hunt them down in Adventure Mode to uncover clues that reveal a portal into Tristram’s past, and rediscover the terrifying darkness that took hold of the town so many years ago…” reads the patch notes.

Blizzard adds: “Experience an homage to the original events of Diablo, brought to you in glorious RetroVision and filled to the brim with nostalgia-inducing features. An evocative audiovisual extravaganza awaits you, as everything from familiar enemies to iconic items have been brought to life in the Diablo III engine. Transmogrification rewards, achievements, and a handful of extra surprises lurk in the depths of this perilous, pixelated dungeon.”

Sounds great.
