Bungie has offered up a new trailer for upcoming expansion Destiny 2: The Witch Queen ahead of its launch next month.

It’s our first look at the expansion’s newest destination, Savathûn’s Throne World. However, don’t expect Savathûn to be rolling out the red carpet for you. In fact, it’s described as a “twisted wonderland of corruption and splendour” if that’s any indication of what to expect.

The Witch Queen has sent you a welcoming committee, however. You’ll be facing off against a new set of Hive enemies known as the Lucent Brood. They’re no pushover though, as they’re infused with the same Light that powers the Guardians. To face them, you’ll have to forge all new weapons, which handily this expansion will let you do. Among the weapons you can forge is a brand new weapon type too, known as The Glaive.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen was formally given a release date back in August following a delay into early 2022. It’s the latest chapter in the game’s ongoing Light & Darkness storyline that will continue in 2023 with Lightfall and wrap up a year later with The Final Shape.

You can check out the new trailer for yourself below. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen arrives for Destiny 2 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on February 22.
