Bungie has revealed that all Destiny 2 Year 1 weapons and armour can be carried over to September's Forsaken expansion.

Speaking with Game Informer, Destiny 2: Forsaken's Creative Director, Steve Cotton, revealed that players can infuse their existing gear to bring it up to the new power cap. In other words, if you've got a favourite exotic helmet or hand cannon knocking about, you can still put them to use in Year 2.

'In Destiny 2: Forsaken, players will be able to take all their favorite year one weapons and armor and bring them up to the new power cap. Forsaken is required to obtain new power,' said Cotton.

To be fair, we can't imagine Bungie not giving us this option in the first place. Grinding for loot is bread-and-butter for Destiny 2, so there would be no point blocking your hard-earned goodies just because a new expansion is on the horizon.

Of course, Forsaken will bring its own fair share of new weapons and armour to hoover up, and it's also introducing the new Gambit Mode, which combines PvP and PvP elements into one intergalactic package.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is due out for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 4. Check out the latest trailer, in which Cayde-6 looks about ready to kick the bucket.
