Activision has rolled out the launch trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken, and they really, really want to hammer home the fact Cayde-6 is dead. In fact, most of the trailer is either showing the wise-cracking Vanguard close to death, or his mates talking about the fact he's dead.

To be fair, if Destiny 2 ever had a shot at injecting some proper emotional clout into its alien-shooting shenanigans, then bumping off Cayde-6 is probably its best bet.

I mean, I'm kind of pissed he's dead and want to get revenge, so I guess it's worked, right? Hell, even your Guardian speaks in the trailer, which is a massive improvement.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 4.

The expansion includes a heap of new content, including revamped Nightfall and Vanguard Strikes, a new endgame time sink called The Dreaming City, and a bunch of new competitive offerings such as Breakthrough and Gambit.

Hell, you'll even have to hunt for Xur, Agent of the Nine all over again every Friday. Rejoice.
