Destiny 2 Episode Heresy is less than a week away! So far, Bungie has announced a lot of fantastic content for players to anticipate, including a crossover with the biggest sci-fi universe of all time, Star Wars. With the announcement of a collaboration with Star Wars making all the noise, fans might not be aware that Bungie has also announced some “first ever” new weapons and excellent Tome for Destiny 2 Episode Heresy.

Destiny 2 Episode Heresy “first ever” new weapons

On the newest TWID blog post, Bungie announced “first ever” new weapons for Destiny 2 Episode Heresy.

Episode Heresy will see Adept versions of Episodic guns. These have “quite a different color scheme, can fit Adept Mods, include a second Origin Trait, and also drop with additional perks in the third and fourth columns”.

Per Bungie, during the recent Episode Heresy livestream, players saw Destiny 2’s “first ever support Strand Auto Rifle”. Equipped with the perk Adamantite, the support strand auto rifle heals friends and also “spawns unraveling projectiles that will trace and hurt your enemies”.

In addition to the support Strand Auto Rifle, Episode Heresy will see the release of “another first” in the form of an “area denial Arc Grenade Launcher”. Bungie additionally says “Psychopomp can roll with a new Arc perk, Rolling Storm, that grants Bolt Charge after final blows”.

Alongside all of the above, there will be a slew more for Episode Heresy. There will be the return of the Season of Arrivals weapon set, and it is coming back with an updated perk pool plus the ability to be enhanced. The Vault of Glass weapon pool will be reprised with new perks, too, and “will be craftable once you unlock their patterns”.

Away from this new TWID, Bungie has also previously announced some other new weapons and the return of an old favorite, along with some incoming mega buffs and new perks.

New Tome

Bungie has also announced a new Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Tome that fans on Reddit have dubbed a “massive W,” provided it works as touted. It is called the Tome of Want, and it’s intended to work as outlined below:

  • On day one, you’ll unlock the “Tome of Want”, giving you options to focus on earning specific weapons, armor, or currencies in addition to general loot drops you’ll earn during gameplay.
  • As you complete Heresy activities, you’ll earn Essence of Desire to power up your Tome’s rituals, and Scriptures, which will specify the desired rewards.
  • To keep you better informed of ritual progress, the Tome’s tooltip will display a progress bar, indicating when you’ll earn your next specified reward. This lives entirely within your inventory.
  • Progress is gained by defeating powerful enemies and completing activities. You’ll get more progress from Heresy activities, of course, but minor gains can be earned from various activities throughout the game.
  • As we get deeper into Heresy, you’ll be able to upgrade your Tome to be more efficient, increasing the number of rewards that can be earned through a single ritual.
  • Additionally, Tome Engravings will be unlocked over time and augment a number of Artifact Perks with additional effects. These effects will activate any time a ritual is active, within the Tome.
