If you want a Battlefield-inspired shooter that packs in glorious visuals and large-scale vehicular combat, you’re in luck. Delta Force: Hawk Ops gave us another look at its destructible environments and military arsenal at Summer Game Fest this year. While there’s not a lot of gameplay footage out yet, we’re still looking forward to Team Jade’s game. Here’s what you need to know about the game’s features and when you can play the Alpha test.

When does the Delta Force: Hawk Ops Alpha test start?

You will be able to play Delta Force: Hawk Ops’s PC Alpha test on August 6, 2024, at 12 AM UTC (+0) time. It was supposed to go live on July 18, 2024, but was postponed due to flaws spotted during the Technical Test. Issues like long queue times for all multiplayer modes were behind the delay as the developers wanted to polish the extraction shooter further. The Alpha will support English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian.

While there’s some mixed messaging around the free-to-play title, the Steam listing mentions access to a reworked campaign (in the final game) as well as a new futuristic specialist-based multiplayer component. Expect the Alpha to feature Hazard Operations (extraction) and Havoc Warfare (large-scale combat) game modes. The former includes rival teams, Royal Guards, and marauding AI-controller mercenaries competing in randomized events across two huge maps. Expect three Havoc Warfare maps where vehicles, tanks, and aircraft will let you topple enemy teams in PvP combat.

What to expect from Delta Force: Hawk Ops’ gameplay

Publisher TiMi Studio promises single-player and multi-player combat across two timeframes, 1993’s Delta Force – Black Hawk Down campaign and 2035’s futuristic assault on a sprawling corporation. The devs remade the Delta Force: Black Hawk Down campaign from 2003’s NovaLogic game in Unreal Engine 5. The first-person shooter promises to deliver gritty action that resembles Battlefield’s older titles like 3 and 4, with an assortment of weapons and abilities.

The Summer Game Fest 2024 trailer didn’t show much gameplay, so we’re still in the dark about how the game will function. A teaser showed off some incredible lighting as a player slowly walked through a variety of in-game locations but there’s not enough here to know that we’re not looking at another derivative shooter. With over 100,000 wishlists, there’s a great deal of interest here from returning players as well as FPS gamers looking for a new game to try out.
