Hideo Kojima has stated that the poster child of Death Stranding, the baby in the golden incubator, will be able to speak to the player through the PlayStation 4’s DualShock controller speaker (via VG247).
Last week, Kojima Productions announced that the game has gone gold. A photo of the joyous team was shared with the caption, ‘Hideo Kojima, the Kojima Productions team, everyone at Sony and Guerrilla, cast members; all put their heart and soul into it. Thanks for your support, we can’t wait to bring you a new “A HIDEO KOJIMA GAME”.’
A special Death Stranding PS4 Pro edition was also unveiled, and it’s got a stylish and minimal design with inky black handprints slapped on the matte white console. It comes with a controller that mimics the bridge baby pod that Sam carries with him to detect the otherworldly BT predators. Now, it seems that the controller doesn’t just take after the BB in appearance alone.
I’m not sure what the BB would have to say to Sam, or the player. Babies are not known for their scintillating conversation skills. But, those hikes would be a long, silent journey otherwise. Maybe Sam could ask the BB to queue up podcast episodes to enjoy on the way.
Death Stranding will launch on PlayStation 4 on November 8.
