Hideo Kojima, video games auteur and Geoff Keighley’s best friend, has tweeted to confirm that his new game, Death Stranding, will not be at E3 this year.

Kojima, famous for creating the Metal Gear series, says that the team are fully focused on development. He will, however, be appearing at Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum on Wednesday 14 June at 3.15 pm PST, which is 11.15 pm BST.

Appearing at the same time will be Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the recent Kong: Skull Island movie. Vogt-Roberts is a big games fan, and recently Tweeted images of some video game Easter eggs he hid in his film.

Alongside the announcement was the image of a spider web shaped like a star, and the word BRIDGES. Possibly it will be announced that the Death Stranding super-best-friends team (Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen) is going to be supplemented by Jeff Bridges.

That is a joke, but equally may actually happen, who knows.
