Fans of horror are chomping at the bit to get back into the space suit of Issac Clarke with the launch of the Dead Space Remake later this week.
The survival horror classic has had plenty of engineering work done to bring it bang up to date – with a few surprises promised for fans who are very familiar with the 2008 original.

So if you’re wanting to make us whole early, can you get ahead of the curve and start downloading the game already? Here’s what we know about the Dead Space Remake preload.
Dead Space Remake preload time – Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC
The time you can preload EA’s Dead Space Remake depends on what format you’re on. Those on Xbox Series X|S can already get downloading – as it’s been available since January 20, 2023 from 8am PT which is 4am UK time.
Those on PlayStation 5 will have to wait a little longer. PlayStation 5 preloading will commence on January 25, 2023 at 8am PT (4am UK time).
It’s the same story on the PC, as you’ll be able to preload the game through Steam, the EA App and the Epic Game Store from January 25, 2023 at 8am PT (4am UK time.)
Dead Space Remake preload size – Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC
But how much (Dead) space will you need to make room for Issac’s return? Well, according to the game’s Steam listing, on PC you’ll require 50GB of available space on your HDD. The requirements also recommend you have have the game installed on a SATA, to make everything nice and quick.
Over on Xbox, the game’s Xbox Store page gives an approximation of 32GB of space you’ll need free on your hard drive if you want to play the game on Xbox Series X|S.
At the time of writing, a filesize for the PlayStation 5 version hasn’t been confirmed on the PlayStation Store page or by EA/Motive – though we’d be surprised if it was much bigger than the Xbox version. We’ll update when it arrives on the PlayStation Store.
The Dead Space Remake will launch on January 27, 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
