Our North American friends will be able to get their hands on the full game next week, but European gamers have to wait until September 8 to get their zombie fix. Don’t fret too much, though; Capcom has released a 15-minute timed demo, so everyone with an Xbox Live account (and a hard drive) can sample the game. If you want to maximise your time within the demo, avoid heading for areas that lead outside of the immediate area, as doing so will end the demo.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so, Dead Rising is Capcom’s first retail Xbox 360 release and sees a photographer battling hundreds of zombies in a mall, while making time to take a few snaps of the undead horde in a variety of poses. As you can imagine, it features a truckload of blood, but has a definite slapstick edge, with most of the weapons offering plenty of comedic value.

The demo weighs in at a quite massive 1014.61 MB, so be thankful Microsoft introduced Active Downloads. Sadly, the demo isn’t available in Mexico, Germany, Australia, New Zealand or Asia.
