Dead By Daylight has a lot of exciting plans for the future. We have plenty to enjoy until the end of Year 9 and we are getting the biggest collaboration yet in Year 10. One of the most anticipated upcoming additions is the mysterious licensed killer for March. While the identity of this rogue hasn’t been revealed yet, DBD fans will be able to play the next licensed killer early on PC.

When it comes to chapters, fans will be able to play the Chapter 34 PTB in November at the same time 2v8 mode returns with new rewards and killer skill changes. As for Year 10, it’s official we are finally getting an FNAF Chapter, meanwhile, a reputable leaker has previously stated that a crossover with The Walking Dead has been planned.

While there’s a lot of hope for Year 10, there’s a lot more intrigue surrounding the licensed paragraph for March because it’s more imminent. Leaks still haven’t explicitly uncovered the identity of the next licensed Dead By Daylight killer, but at least we know when and how we will be able to play as them early.

How to play next Dead By Daylight licensed killer early

The next Dead By Daylight licensed killer is set to arrive in March 2025 as per the Year 9 roadmap. It is a paragraph, meaning there will not be an accompanying survivor or map.

If you own DBD on Steam, you will be able to play as the killer early in February through the PTB. According to renowned leaker Dvveet, the Chapter 35 PTB is expected to drop on February 18th with the chapter then releasing for everyone on March 11th.

Per Dvveet, it’s important to note that this is tentative as of writing and that dates may be off by a day or two. However, this is the expected schedule based off the past.

In order to play the PTB, you need to own Dead By Daylight on Steam. Provided you play through Steam, all you will need to do is follow the below steps:

  • Right-click Dead By Daylight in your Steam library
  • Select “Properties”
  • Head into “Betas”, then select Public Test Build from the list

While we don’t know who the licensed killer is, the top theory right now is that they are Kayako from The Grudge. This is based off a leaker saying the killer is more popular in the East, and the Ju-On series is also celebrating its 25th anniversary next year as the first movie came out in 2000 for Japan. In addition, BeHaviour Interactive has recently said “more Japanese IPs are coming” to DBD.

This doesn’t confirm that it is Kayako from Ju-On, but it is the only candidate right now. Mathieu Cote has said the licensed killer is “out of the box” and might prove controversial, so it could possibly be someone not confined to the horror genre like Vecna from Dungeons and Dragons as well as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.
