Dead By Daylight has had an enjoyable February 2025 with the return of 2v8 mode and its onus on Resident Evil. However, the month was expected to be even better with the DBD Chapter 35 PTB. While it’s unfortunate that we will have to wait quite a while longer to play the public test build, BeHaviour Interactive has explained why the delay to the Dead By Daylight Chapter 35 PTB release date is ultimately good news.

Dead By Daylight Chapter 35 PTB release date

The Dead By Daylight Chapter 35 PTB release date is March 11th. This is now confirmed by BeHaviour Interactive.

In a video announcing the delay, BeHaviour Interactive stated that the DBD PTB was originally slated to come out on February 18th, as we originally reported. However, it’s officially been delayed by three weeks, so it should come out on March 11th.

As of writing, we still don’t know who the killer is for the episode. It is a Paragraph meaning there will only be a killer without a survivor or map. In addition, it’s a licensed paragraph, meaning the killer is from another IP. BeHaviour Interactive is yet to unmask the rogue, but alleged leaks claim it is Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul.

While the postponement is quite lengthy, it’s fortunate that Dead By Daylight players have a lot to enjoy before it comes out. There’s still 2v8 mode to enjoy until February 25th, with players able to get a total of 800,000 Bloodpoints. And there will be the return of a popular LTM event at the beginning of March as revealed in leaks.

Why the DBD delay is good news

While the delay is disappointing, it’s ultimately good news thanks to the justification provided by Dead By Daylight developer, BeHaviour Interactive. The reason it’s delayed is because the developer is focusing on significant changes that will massively improve the state of DBD.

Below are the confirmed updates and improvements BeHaviour is working on delivering between April to December:

April – June:

  • Gameplay:
    • Ant-Slugging/Surrender Option
    • Gamma Settings
    • “Go Next” Prevention
    • Spawn Rules & Map Offering Balancing
    • Improved AFK Bots
  • Quality of Life:
    • Bulk Bloodpoint Spending
    • New Quest System
    • More Perk Presets
    • Preview Your Perks In Lobby

July – December:

  • Gameplay:
    • Ant-Slugging/Continued Improvements
    • Anti-Tunnelling
    • Anti-Camping
    • Map & Key Item Balancing
  • Quality of Life:
    • Keyboard and Mouse on Consoles
    • Custom Game Improvements
    • Accessibility Improvements
    • Prestige Rewards
    • Reduced Login Steps

Again, it’s disappointing that the Chapter 35 PTB has been delayed, but the postponement is ultimately worth it so the developers can focus on getting some of these planned gameplay and quality-of-life improvements ready for the live release on April 2nd.
