Sony Bend has announced that open-world zombie Freaker-'em-up Days Gone is due for release on February 22, 2019.

The news comes as part of Sony's on-going pre-E3 announcements this week, which kicked off yesterday with trippy puzzler Tetris Effect.

Days Gone is Sony Bend's first title since Uncharted: Golden Abyss in 2012, and takes place in a post-apocalyptic US infested by z…sorry, like Ed says in Shaun of the Dead, we're not supposed to say 'the zed word.' Freakers. They're Freakers, not, you know, those other undead things that you see in almost every video game these days.

You play as the heroically-named Deacon St. John, a former bounty hunter and bike aficionado who attempts to forge a living in a world populated by flesh-hungry hordes and unscrupulous human survivors.

Days Gone will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4.
