9th Impact Studios has announced it’s bringing Danger Mouse, the classic British kids cartoon that kicked off in the 1980s, to the Switch in the shape of Danger Mouse: The Danger Games.

While you may have expected a game featuring the World’s Greatest Secret Agent to revolve around bonking bad guys on the head a la Mario, The Danger Games is actually a racer.

Previously released on Android and iOS, Danger Mouse’s Switch debut doffs its cap to Mario Kart more than anything, featuring high-speed thrills and power-ups as you leg it around crowded city streets while gobbling up ‘serendipitously located pieces of Tech.’ These include barmy concoctions such as the Shrinkatizer, Danger Car, Freeze Ray, and Carrot Rocket.

The Danger Games is packed full of classic characters from the show (I’m not counting the awful 2015 reboot; I grew up when David Jason voiced DM, which automatically makes it superior) such as the eponymous hero mouse, sidekick Penfold, Barron Greenback, Colonel K, and more.

Players will be able to compete with other gamers worldwide while tackling panic-inducing mini-games, and the more you race the more characters, trophies, and decks you can hoover up.
