Players preparing for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 today have a lot to look forward to, but it seems the community’s already impressed with the glow-up from a certain Johnny Silverhands as played by Keanu Reeves.

The footage of the new model comes from the publisher-provided video material to accompany the recent Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty reviews showing off graphical improvements including Ray Reconstruction set to come as part of Update 2.0, further improving the Overdrive feature added from the patch a few months back. “For real, I was shocked at how much better character models looked in their preview video of RT Overdrive,” said Izwald88.

Many agreed, although they’re a little disappointed this glow-up is mainly restricted to those on PC with certain graphics cards. “It’s so crazy,” Izwald88 would go on to say. “It’s just too bad it’s only available to the select few who own a 4080 or 90.” – however, there’s hope that most players will still get to enjoy some level of improvement, even if not to the same degree. “Almost any RTX40 card can do it to some extent,” reveals heartbroken_nerd. “Even the desktop RTX4060, just temper your expectations. At 1920×1080 target output, with DLSS Quality or Balanced and Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction you could have 60fps or so. With a Variable Refresh Rate screen that could be very pleasant to play, actually.”

We’ll have to wait until the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2 release time to experience the full extent of the changes, but if what we’ve seen so far is anything to go on, it seems Cyberpunk 2077 will be looking better than ever once the update arrives.
