Studio MDHR has revealed that Cuphead, its looney boss battler with jazzy tunes, has gone five-times platinum and sold five million copies (via MCV).

It’s Cuphead’s second birthday to boot, so happy birthday to you, Cuphead. But, Studio MDHR has turned the tables on us and it will be gifting presents to its players. Five days of giveaways for five million copies. And, as of yesterday, the game is discounted by 20 per cent across all platforms for one whole week. Which is quite lovely, and arithmetically pleasing.

That record's been smashed, and bizarrely enough, an animated TV show based upon Cuphead is coming to Netflix. In July, Studio MDHR said, ‘Coming to you in full color and cine-sound, it's…The Cuphead Show! Witness the wondrous Inkwell Isles as you've never seen them before in an original series inspired by classic animation styles of the 1930s.’

We’ll drink to Cuphead’s continued success. The game is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One.
