Hard-as-nails platformer Cuphead is well known for being hard as nails and also having a distinctive art style based on 1930s cartoons. Now Netflix is stepping in and actually creating a bonafide animated show based on the game.

Announced via the game's development team Studio MDHR and further detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, The Cuphead Show is set to be an animated comedy featuring Cuphead and Mugman as they make a high-stakes deal with the devil, expanding upon the plot and characters from the game.

Production is being headed up by Netflix and King Features, and executive producers include CJ Kettler who worked on Carmen Sandiego for Netflix, as well as Cuphead's own creators from Studio MDHR, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer.

There's no date set for when we can expect The Cuphead Show to hit screens, but maybe it'll arrive in time for Cuphead's own DLC Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course which has been pushed into next year.
