Electronic Arts has announced that Crysis 2 has shipped approximately 3 million units worldwide. The figure was released in the publisher’s Q1 FY12 Financial Results. Other titles to do well from EA include Portal 2, Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age 2, each shipping over 2 million units to date.

“This was another solid quarter driven by both digital and packaged goods,” said John Riccitiello, chief executive officer.

Crysis 2 deserves its success. In our Crysis 2 review we said that “Crytek’s fourth game is their most confident to date, carefully balancing silliness, seriousness, and spectacle,” going on to award the game a 9/10.

Portal 2 will hopefully go on to sell far more copies, no doubt spurred on by the inevitable Game of the Year awards it’ll be given at the end of 2011. Given that we awarded it 10/10 in our Portal 2 review, you can expect the game to be one of the favourites with us too.

It seems disappointing Dragon Age 2 reviews didn’t hurt sales too much, while Dead Space 2 has firmly established the series as something that’s hopefully here to stay.
