Criterion is still working on bringing Burnout Paradise to Xbox One via backward compatibility, the developer has said.

The studio first revealed that it was talking to Microsoft about bringing the game to Xbox One BC over a year ago, although there have been few updates on it since, prompting some concern about whether it could still happen. But Criterion hopes to have some news to share “soon”.

“Patience, Paradise fans! This work is continuing and we hope to have more BC news soon,” it tweeted this morning.

Burnout Paradise launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2008, and took the series into an open world setting. Tom said it was a game “that every gamer should have in their collection”. I agree, although still maintain that Burnout 3 was better.
