Criterion, the studio behind Burnout and some of the more recent Need for Speed titles, actually had a hand in the creation of Star Wars: Battlefront.
A Tweet from the studio on Friday indicated it had been involved in the multiplayer title.
“Which development team could possibly have the expertise to put such speed into the Battlefront speeder bikes..? ;-)” read the Tweet.
A check of the Battlefront credits confirmed that Criterion had indeed worked on the spectacular shooter.
Star Wars: Battlefront was, however, a side project for Criterion which is currently working on a brand-new open-world racing game featuring multiple types of vehicle. All this is without the studio’s founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry who have set up Three Fields Entertainment and confirmed a spiritual successor to Burnout.
