Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy has retained its number one spot for the sixth week, and the fourth on the trot, after another rather mellow week for new releases. You can’t knock its consistency.

Fallout 4 moves up to second, following a boost thanks to Bethesda’s relentless sales promotions over the last few weeks. Bethesda’s other titles, Dishonoured 2 and Doom, retain their top five places, at numbers four and five respectively. Grand Theft Auto V is obviously still up there hovering at number three. We see re-entries into the top ten for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at number seven, which indicates that more Switch consoles had become available, and Forza Horizon 3 is the other returnee coming in at number nine. Rainbow Six Siege jumps two places to eighth and Battlefield 1 drops down to tenth.

The last time a title held onto top spot for four weeks was at the end of 2016 it was another Activision title, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which held top spot from the end of 2016 into 2017.

The full top ten for the week ending August 12 looks like this:

  1. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  2. Fallout 4
  3. Grand Theft Auto V
  4. Dishonoured 2
  5. Doom
  6. Splatoon 2
  7. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  8. Rainbow Six Siege
  9. Forza Horizon 3
  10. Battlefield 1
