SEGA has announced that Monolith Productions is returning to the scene of the crime with Condemned 2: Bloodshot, the next chapter in the critically acclaimed series that began with Condemned back at the launch of the Xbox 360.

Players will once again assume the role of Ethan Thomas, the former Serial Crimes Unit investigator, who is called back to duty to track down his missing partner. The visceral melee combat from the first game returns complete with an all-new fighting system featuring defensive and offensive combo chains.

Ethan will also have a range of high-tech forensic tools at his disposal and every murder can be solved in a number of different ways. Things won’t be easy though as Ethan’s past has left him a broken man, fighting inner demons throughout his investigation into a sinister conspiracy.

New to the series will be a variety of online multiplayer modes, promising to deliver the most brutal hand-to-hand combat experience the first-person genre has ever seen.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is scheduled for release in Q1 2008 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
