Developer Relic Entertainment has offered fans more insight into the making of upcoming WW2 RTS Company of Heroes 3.

In the latest developer diary, members of the production team talk on the game’s dynamic campaign map. Over the course of the Campaign, you’ll decide how Allied forces will try & take back control of Italy. Crucially, the outcome of missions and skirmishes will be reflected in future missions, forcing you to adapt as necessary.

Players will be able to customise the make-up of their troops how they see fit. For example, the developers note you’ll even be able to have an all-air force army in Company of Heroes 3. However, in order to ensure a steady supply of aircraft, they’ll have to capture airfields. So you might to send some land troops first to ensure your pilots & aircraft are stocked on ammo and fuel.

You’ll also have to pay attention to the seas too, of course. Naval forces will ensure your supply lines can run freely, and if they’re being harassed by enemy boats you’ll have to do something about that. You could also use naval forces to transport and send land forces on counter-attacks, you’re even able to perform beach landings.  There’ll also be Partisans – special forces who’ll be able to go behind enemy lines to perform certain actions such as sabotage.
