Bandai Namco has released some new details and screenshots for Code Vein, introducing and detailing two of the game’s characters: Mia Karnstein and Yakumo Shinonome. The screens also show two new bosses, and more of the post-apocalyptic world from the game. The world of Vein is bleak, desolate and populated by vampires, known as Revenant. A Revenant must give into vampire blood-sucking tendencies, or change into a monster. That sucks.

Ladies first. Mia Karnstein is a female Revenant who’s wandering in the land. She’s joined by her brother, her only remaining family, who she’ll do anything to protect. Equipped with a bayonet-styled weapon, she’s geared towards long-range attacks.

Yakumo Shinonome is a former mercenary-turned-Revenant, a faithful man who always takes care of others. He’s loved, respected, and someone who retains an air of cool and professionalism when he fights. His ability (or gift) is a blood veil, that morphs the sleeves of his jacket into wolves which attack enemies swiftly. He’s a close-range fighter, armed with a large sword.

Code Vein is a vampire themed action-RPG, with an air of anime Dark Souls about it, that puts players into the role of a Revenant. After entering Vein, players embark on a journey through the world with a companion picked from the various residents of Vein. Uncovering lost memories and finding a way out of this demented reality. The world of Code Vein is dangerous, full of enemies and bosses that will put players’ combat skills to the test.

Code Vein is due to release in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
