Eidos have confirmed that Championship Manager 5 will not make its planned 2004 release. The game will instead now be released sometime in the second half of the company’s 2005 financial year. This points to a date between January and June 2005. Also made in the announcement was some news on the release of the console and online versions of the game. Both games are due to be released near to CM5 on the PC.

In other Eidos news, a sequel to the critically panned ShellShock: Nam ’67 is said to be in development. While press all seemed to dislike the game, it has sold in excess of 800,000 copies, obviously making it sequel material for Eidos. A point to note is that Guerrilla Games, the people behind the first game, have since signed an exclusive deal with Sony, only allowing their games on the PlayStation brand. Whether this means a new developer is working on the ShellShock sequel remains to be seen.
