Indie smash hit puzzle game Papers, Please, which saw you playing as an immigration inspector on the border of Arstotzka (Glory to Arstotzka), is being made into a short film. The game’s developer Lucas Pope posted some production shots on Twitter, giving it his seal of approval.

The film makers, Nikita and Liliya Ordynskiy, are graduates from the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting (and those links are to their graduate films, also posted by Pope).Â
The production shots look pretty fantastic from where we’re sitting, but this project is up against some pretty stiff competition in the ‘best film adaptation of a game’ stakes. Look at Doom, for example. Or Super Mario Bros. Yup.
