Gears of War 3 will feature a “casual multiplayer area” designed to ease noobs into the game’s unforgiving multiplayer game modes.
New players entering mutliplayer will often find it very difficult to get to grips with the speed at which things happen when up against seasoned players, but the casual zone should provide a safe haven for the so called noobs.
At Comic-Con over the weekend, Epic’s executive producer Rod Fergusson said that Gears 3 is “the easiest to play” of all the Gears of War titles, so therefore is ideally suited to new players.
Design director Cliff Bleszinski described the casual area as being “like reverse VIP”.
Playing in the casual area will offer an aim assist amongst other accessibility enhancements. Any player who has previously played a Gears game or has taken part in the Gears of War 3 beta will be denied access to the casual area.
Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski recently said that Gears of War will not be the final legacy of Epic Games and that the Gears 3 campaign is at least 10 hours long.
Gears of War 3 launches worldwide September 20.
