Capcom has revealed that it won’t be patching the Xbox LIVE Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix beta, which is beset by system-crashing game freezes.
In a post on Capcom’s official forums, Sr. Director of Strategic Planning & Research Christian Svensson said that a patch would cost too much money and take too long to implement.
He said: “We will not be patching the beta… resubmissions would cost a fortune and not go live for weeks even if we had (MS would have to reapprove every submission). This isn’t like the PC where a developer can make changes daily (for good or ill). All feedback and bugs will be factored into the final code.”
Currently the beta, available as a download via an 800 MS point purchase of XBLA title Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, often completely crashes the Xbox 360 when searching for ranked, player and tournament matches.
Players have also complained about character Ken’s air juggling Dragon Punch, which causes a massive amount of damage and can make your opponent dizzy. Word is, however, that the build used in the beta is old and this has already been toned down somewhat.
