Star Wars: Battlefront launches November 19, with the beta kicking off on Thursday, and for PC gamers the biggest concern will be if their system is good enough to get the most of the visually stunning shooter.
The good news is that EA’s Origin Store has updated with new minimum and recommended system requirements for the game, giving you a rough idea of how your rig will handle all the Star Wars action.
Minimum PC System Requirements
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
- Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
- Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
- Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
- DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
- Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
Recommended PC System Requirements
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
- Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600 or equivalent
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
- Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB
- Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB
- DirectX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
- Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
The biggest barrier to entry here appears to be the 8GB memory requirement, but thankfully memory pricing is super low at the moment so you should be able to upgrade for around £30. The recommended specs also indicate that PC gamers should expect visuals to surpass those found on consoles, with the GTX 970 being vastly superior to the GPU in PS4 and Xbox One.
