Raven Software has announced it’s to tweak the Krampus character introduced in Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific‘s currently ongoing Festive Fervour event.
In a tweet, the studio said that Krampus had “made it to the very top of the Festive Fervor” naughty list, referencing complaints from fans. To explain: the character is a temporary addition in the shooter’s temporary Holiday themed mode. Krampus randomly spawns on the map, and will hunt down battle royale players. If players manage to kill him first, they receive some minor cosmetic rewards.
However, players have complained that the character is slightly too powerful and takes a lot, even from a fully equipped squad, to take down. As a result, the game’s social channels and reddit threads have plenty of requests for the character’s removal. As the Warzone studio, Raven has announced that they will reduce his health “significantly” across all modes.
Furthermore, Krampus should no longer spawn after the fourth circle. This was related to player complaints that he was appearing when a squad was close to victory, and spoiling the end of the regular battle royale game. Hopefully, these changes will mean Krampus’ presence doesn’t get too much in the way of the regular game.
The Festive Fervour event kicked off this past weekend in Call of Duty Vanguard and Call of Duty Warzone Pacific. Aside from Krampus, Call of Duty players can also hunt down Elf Team Six and more. The update is in the game now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Looks like Krampus made it to the very top of the Festive Fervor naughty list. So…
• Krampus' health has been reduced significantly across all modes / respective squad sizes
• Krampus no longer spawns after the 4th Circle
Let this be a lesson to all those pesky Elves. 🎄
