At the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, it was announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will hold a PlayStation exclusive open alpha for its 2v2 Gunfight mode this weekend.
The alpha will begin on August 23 at 6pm BST and end on August 25. Five maps will be showcased — including the unseen Speedball and Docks — and there will be multiple Operator roles to take on. Activision also stated that ‘a number of other surprises’ are scheduled for the weekend, and a PS Plus membership won’t be required to play the Gunfight alpha. A multiplatform beta is planned for later this year.
