King, the studio behind worldwide match 3 phenomenon Candy Crush Saga, is bringing Activision’s Call of Duty series to mobile, as it outlined on a job listing on its website looking for a Level Designer, Senior Systems Designer, Senior UX/UI Designer, and Art Director .

The Call of Duty team at King is being built from the ground up and they’re aim is ‘to transform the best console experience fans know and love, while also breaking new ground for mobile and redefining the genre,’ according to their mission statement.

‘The team will prototype extensively, have the freedom to think outside the box, and be encouraged to stretch their expertise in ways to create surprising results,’ said the developer, acquired by Activision Blizzard in 2015 for $5.9 billion.

Mobile is an area that Call of Duty hasn’t completely penetrated as of yet, with Activision’s most recent attempt at cracking the lucrative market coming in 2014 with Call of Duty: Heroes. King has pedigree in this arena, however, so while this appears to be in the early stages, it may be the one that helps Call of Duty truly break into the commuters’ daily routines just like Candy Crush Saga did.
