The PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature higher resolution textures than those used in the PS4 and Xbox One versions, executive producer Mark Rubin has told Kotaku.

“PC is taking a different tack from previous games [in the series,]” Rubin said.

“Now, PC has its own set of assets,” Rubin said. “It’s going to look better than any Call of Duty we’ve ever made on PC.”

“They’re actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint.”

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released November 5 for current systems, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions yet to be date.

The next-gen systems already falling behind the PC is a little concerning given that new consoles have been able to outperform PCs at launch in the past. If PC tech is already more powerful than the new consoles, the gulf will likely only become more apparent in the coming years…
