The system requirements posted yesterday for Call of Duty: Ghosts are not official, Activision has claimed, asking that PC players wait for the correct specs to be released by Infinity Ward.

Responding to a fan asking whether the requirements posted on Nvidia’s website were official, Activision’s support team tweeted: “Unfortunately they are not. Please stay tuned for the official requirements coming soon, thank you.”

It later added that “we don’t have info on the specs for PC yet”.

Nvidia posted the alleged minimum and recommended system requirements for Call of Duty: Ghosts yesterday, claiming that the game required a DirectX 11 GPU, 6GB RAM and 50GB of storage space.

The specs are still visible on the company’s website. It isn’t yet clear whether the final specs will be higher or lower than those posted.

Activision’s comments reflect those of Ubisoft last week, which claimed that the initial PC specs for its upcoming open-world hacking game were “not official configurations” and that the “real specs… will be lower”.

Revised requirements were later posted to the publisher’s website – but appeared to be even more demanding than those posted previously.
